President of the French Academy of Sciences
Philippe Taquet is Professor Emeritus at the French National Museum of History and since 2012 the President of the French Academy of Sciences. He is a celebrated paleontologist specialised in dinosaur systematics and with more than 40 years of experience in the field. He discovered and named more than 9 new dinosaur species. As Academy President, Philippe Taquet promotes a better exchange of data on geo- and biodiversity among researchers in Europe and in developing countries.
