Nurit Yirmiya is the Chief Scientist of the Israeli Ministry of Science, Technology and Space. She chairs the Israeli National Council for the Advancement of Women in Science & Technology and is the acting Co-Chair of the German-Israeli Foundation for Research and Development. She has served as the Associate Editor of the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry and as Dean of Students at the Lafer Center for Women and Gender Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is a full professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and internationally known for her pioneering research in the field of autism.
