Londa Schiebinger is a historian of science specialising in research on the relationship between gender and science. She is the John L. Hinds Professor of History of Science at Stanford University. She received her Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1984, and Directed the Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford from 2004-2010. She currently directs the EU/US Gendered Innovations in Science, Health & Medicine, Engineering, and Environment project (genderedinnovations.eu). Schiebinger is the recipient of major prizes and awards, including the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Research Prize and Guggenheim Fellowship. Her interdisciplinary research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, National Endowment for the Humanities, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Fulbright-Hays Commission, and the Woodrow Wilson Foundation.
