The Biryusa Summer School announces its winner

For a second time a Falling Walls Lab has been hosted in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. The Biryusa Summer School organised our dynamic forum and set the stage for outstanding talents and innovative thinkers on 8 July 2016.

The day saw a wide variety of innovative ideas spanning medicine, mathematics, social sciences and engineering. A high-calibre jury made up of industry and science representatives selected the best presenter who will travel to Berlin and pitch again at the Falling Walls Lab Finale on 8 November. The winner also receives a ticket for the internationally renown Falling Walls Conference on 9 November.

Polina Moskaleva    Russia    Krasnoyarsk State Medical University    Breaking the Wall of Mysteries in Ion Channels

It has been proven in the past that a series of diseases is closely connected with ion channel dysfunction. Polina studies the mechanism of channelopathies and presented the development of the action potential and flow of ions in our cells.
